We also love that while Golden is located in BC, it’s near the Alberta border making it only a 3-hour drive from Calgary.
While Golden is known for offering year-round, world-class experiences, including some epic winter sports, summers in Golden are extra special. Summer activities include hiking, mountain biking, boating, mountaineering, horseback riding, and wildlife watching. Aside from outstanding outdoor activities, another one of Golden’s charms is the local community, including all the incredible local businesses. Hike to the Stunning Mummery Glacier
A hidden gem of a hike offering stunning views of Mummery Glacier. This short but moderately challenging hike offers stunning rewards and the trailhead is under an hour from Camp Moose Trail. With a total hiking distance of only 5-6 km and only 200 m of elevation, this trail takes around 4-6 hours to hike round trip.
With glorious views of waterfalls, glaciers and more, this trail is best hiked during drier conditions. Proper hiking footwear that can deal with slippery conditions and bear spray is recommended. Deadfall and other trail improvements were made in 2018.
Visit Golden’s NEW Skybridge
Experience Canada’s highest suspension bridge at Golden’s newest attraction, the Golden Skybridge!! There are two bridges, one suspends 426 feet (130-metres) over a canyon with a thundering river and a 200-foot (61-metre) waterfall you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Rocky and Purcell mountains.
With wooded walking trails, mountain coaster, zipline, outdoor obstacle course, treetop village play park and grill restaurant, there’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

Laura founded Daley Bread Bakery on the south side of Golden, B.C. in 2020. Laura worked as an in-house pastry chef with CMH Heli-Skiing so she knows how to create culinary delights for adventurous souls.
