02 / BEYOND CAMP
Read the landscape.
A short distance on a map can still mean a steep climb. Contour lines show how the ground rises and falls: close lines mean steeper slopes; wider spacing means gentler ground.
Creeks, valleys and ridgelines put camp in context. Understanding that terrain helps you ask better questions about an outing’s elevation gain, approach and suitability before heading out.
Still exploring.
We’re continuing to explore the landscape directly around camp, including potential new climbing lines and places we’re only beginning to get to know. Visiting climbers are part of that story, exploring the area and helping establish new routes. We’ll keep updating this map as we learn more and document what’s out there.
